Beautiful Wedding on Montana Ranch
We had a blast photographing this Western Montana ranch wedding! Muddy boots and all. Do you have dreams of get’n hitched on a ranch in beautiful Western Montana? Read on to get ideas:
When the Dixie Chicks sing about wanting a ‘cowboy to take me away,’ they likely pictured somebody just like Andy. A stoic cowboy in a matching hat with a quiet calm demeanor and special smile reserved for his beautiful bride, Hannah.
Without further ‘I do,’ let me introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. Kreis!
How Hannah and Andy Met
The couple met while working at Murdoch’s Ranch and Home Supply, slinging everything from barn supplies to cowboy boots. After seven years of river fishing and jumping into freezing lakes together, Andy decided it was time to pop the question and take the next step on their adventure together.
The Western Montana Ranch Wedding
There’s nothing more special than having a wedding location with a connection to the happy couple. Hannah’s family homestead is right here in Missoula, Montana, and they chose to have their wedding on the ranch!
Fun Fact: the plan is for them to build their house on a piece of the land Hannah’s parents gave them. Isn’t that the most romantic thing? These two have plenty of building, hunting, and fishing in their future!
The weather forecast for the day was spelling out DISASTER in big letters, but we all vowed to make the most of it and have fun while at it. Someone must have seen all that and finger-crossing and praying we were doing because the clouds parted just before we arrived at the ranch!
Speaking of breathtaking views. The couple had a first look before the ceremony, and how these two looked at each tucked at my heartstrings. This is what getting married in Montana is all about!
There’s something so magical about how the light hits the mountains after a downpour. The light illuminating the day and the mountains through the wedding arch was breathtaking.
After the ceremony and committing to each other for life, the newly wedded couple enjoyed donuts with their family and friends.
Thankfully, I packed my Muck boots because the rain had soaked the earth. How cute is this kiddo making the most of the mud?
Hannah’s choice to wear bright red lipstick meant each kiss had to be rationed carefully, followed by many frantic attempts from Andy to fix the smeared lipstick. One of my favorite photos of the day is this one of Hannah’s sister-in-law fixing that red lipstick.
After the traditional ‘how much cake can I get on your face’ moment, we took an ATV drive up the hill overlooking the valley and mountains. Their first photos as husband and wife are some of the most epic we’ve ever had the pleasure to take. Do you see those views?
